Anthony G Keane BE, CEng, FIEI, FSecII, FASTM, MIHSM - is a chartered engineer specialising in the areas of Security, Fire Safety and Health & Safety.

He is a Fellow of The Institution of Engineers of Ireland and former Chairman of its Fire & Safety Division, a Fellow of the Security Institute of Ireland of which he is Vice-President, a Fellow of the American Standards Institute (ASTM) and a Member of the Institute of Health & Safety.

He was Corporate Head of Security & Safety for Aer Rianta for 23 years, responsible for the security and safety of the 3 State Airports in Ireland at Dublin, Shannon and Cork.

He is a lecturer in specialist Security & Safety subjects at Dublin City University, the Dublin Institute of Technology, the Garda College at Templemore and colleges in Limerick, Cork and Dun Laoghaire.

Currently he heads up his own security and fire safety consultancy and training company and works for State, Semi-State, Commercial, Industrial and Financial Clients. He holds directorships in 3 companies, of one of which he is non-executive chairman. He recently assisted the 10 East European applicant countries under an extensive EU 'PHARE' programme to bring their National Security Training Standards to the level required by the European Union.

He also acted as Public Safety Manager - Games Planner for the Special Olympics 2003 World Games held in Ireland in June 2003.
